The Neighbourhood - Artist Analysis

The Neighbourhood came out in 2012 with no photos, background information or names, just one music video that intrigued fans and journalists alike. The five members of the band are Jeremy, Jesse, Zachary, Bryan and Michael. Despite the British spelling of the name, the band members are from California, USA.

The Neighbourhood's first song was Female Robbery, followed shortly thereafter by Sweater Weather. The indie songs were accompanied by dark, deep and somewhat 'moody' music videos that only added to the initial intrude back before people knew who the band were.

The band makes music in a range of genres, fluctuating between alternative rock, indie rock, grunge, experimental rock and alternative R&B.

Album: I'm Sorry

The album 'I'm Sorry' is The Neighbourhood's first album, released on August 7th 2012 by Columbia Records. The song 'The Wires' is the fifth and final track on this album. The cover is rather plain and consists of dark colours, including an image of what looks to be a photograph of trees taken at night. The band logo is placed in the centre of the image in white; I believe this adds to the mystery and intrigue surrounding The Neighbourhood in their early days, as it reveals very little information about the band, appearing to be an upside down house, and a dark photo. Not sure of the relevance of last photo? Also, is there an image you need to include?
