Digipak Planning

When considering the design for my digipak I must first find out the dimensions I would need this to be. After speaking with my teacher I recieved a copy of the template via email and found the dimensions must be 5.4 inches by 4,9375 inches. From here I was able to begin brainstorming ideas and started by researching The Neighbourhood's other digipak covers so that I can make a decision on the mood of the cover.
These images are from The Neighbourhood's album covers 'I Love You' and 'Sweater Weather'. They both use the same logo of the upside down house which is iconic to this band, as well as black and white pictures of the weather to give a morbid and emotional feel to the tracks each album will play.
I think I will follow the theme of the first image and not include the name of the band as it will take up a lot of the space on my digipak and will divert attention away from the image I plan to use. I think I will use an extreme close up I will take of money lying on the ground, or blowing in the wind. I will place a black and white filter over the image to follow the theme of the band's other covers and will have the logo of the upside down house in the centre. Like in the album cover for 'Sweater Weather', I also plan to include the album name in small font beside the logo as it will be more easily recognised if the audience know what they are buying.
